December 15, 2009 – On January 8, 2010, Dr. Alain Bouthillier will leave for Argentina, where he’ll face a climb to the top of the 6,692-metre Mount Aconcagua (22,841 feet), the “Colossus of the Americas” ­– the highest point in the Andes mountain range and the highest summit in the world outside of Asia. Benefit concert for the Fondation du CHUM

December 15, 2009 – Danielle Lepage, a resident of the Lanaudière region, is just over 50, but her body is as fragile as that of a 90-year-old. To spread the word about the disease she is battling, and especially to raise funds for research into this rare disease called hereditary sensory neuropathy type II, or HSN2, she decided to organize a concert featuring Michel Beauchênes and the band S.P.E.C. This event raised $6,515.

$1.3 million donation from Quebec Firefighters Foundation for Major Burn Victims

December 3, 2009 – Yesterday the Fondation du CHUM unveiled a plaque that will be installed at the Centre des grands brûlés du CHUM (CHUM Burn Centre) to mark a significant contribution from the Quebec Firefighters Foundation for Major Burn Victims. Over the past ten years, the Firefighters Foundation has donated $1.3 million to support care and research to improve treatment and quality of life for serious burn victims.
