The CHUM will also include an ultra-modern, 46,500-square-metre research centre dedicated to current and future public healthcare needs, offering world-class facilities where researchers can enjoy the best possible conditions for advanced scientific work and the transmission of knowledge. The CHUM Research Centre (CRCHUM) will contribute to the transformation of medical practice and conduct research into the treatment and prevention of complex health problems such as diabetes, hypertension, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, arthritis, contagious diseases and viral infections, as well as diseases of the brain and nervous system.
