Lifeline service
Security around the clock
Elderly people living alone often worry about not being able to reach somebody for medical help in case of a fall, injury or illness. With the Lifeline service, they can now get help at home 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Lifeline subscribers simply press a button on the communication device that’s supplied with the home security service, or touch a personal help button worn around their neck or on their wrist. In seconds, they’re in touch with a trained response centre associate who can access all the necessary information about them.
The pendant and wristband devices are waterproof and can be worn in the shower or bathtub, where accidents and sudden illness frequently occur. The communication device has a highly sensitive microphone and powerful speaker so that the subscriber can talk to the phone contact even if they’re far away from the device. The phone contact will send help to the home without delay if the person is unable to speak after making contact with Lifeline.
The Fondation du CHUM is proud to collaborate with Philips Lifeline since 10 years by providing the Lifeline service to the community. Offered at a very affordable price, it requires no equipment purchase or long-term commitment.
