Clinique Santé-voyage de la Fondation du CHUM will hold a Colloquium on travel health
Montreal, July 26, 2010 - The Clinique Santé-voyage de la Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM), the university hospital centre foundation’s travel health clinic (formerly known as the Clinique Santé-voyage Saint-Luc), is organizing a colloquium on travel health to be held September 30 and October 1. The event, which is intended for healthcare professionals, will take place at the Centre Mont-Royal in Montreal.
The program includes a workshop on yellow fever and conferences on several major topics, including disaster medicine and deployment of emergency measures, influenza, altitude sickness, and the future of vaccination.
The purpose of the colloquium, which is intended exclusively for healthcare professionals, is to contribute actively to the maintenance of sound practices where travel health is concerned. Numerous professionals have expressed keen interest in attending and sharing their knowledge.

OPQ and FMPQ professional development credits
This activity has been accepted by the Ordre des pharmaciens du Québec (OPQ), which will credit 8.25 continuing education units (UFC) to pharmacists who attend the entire program. The Fédération des médecins omnipraticiens du Québec (FMOQ), the province’s union of general and family medicine practitioners, will likewise allow 3 hours of Category 1 professional development credit to participants in the training session on September 30 and 6 hours of Category 1 credit to participants in the training session on October 1.
All profits from the Clinique Santé-voyage are donated to the Fondation du CHUM to support the university hospital centre and its mission.
