Le donataire: December 2011 edition

Montreal, December 22, 2011 - The Fondation du CHUM takes pleasure in informing you that the Le donataire newsletter for December 2011 is available on line. There is news aplenty and so we are publishing five editions this year for the first time since the inception of the newsletter. We are also pleased to present, by means of a link at the bottom of this page, the 2010-2011 activity report detailing the various achievements of the Fondation with the assistance of its donors.

But for starters, you will find in Le Donataire a message from our volunteer spokesman, Yvon Deschamps. He presents to you the newsletter which deals this time with burn victims. You can read the testimony of Yannick Simard, a patient treated at the CHUM for a serious burn to his hand. You will discover more about the CHUM’s burn unit, which has become the Centre of expertise in Western Québec and receives more than 65% of the province’s clientele. In addition, you will see that the Fondation is going to make possible the acquisition of multimedia platforms for patients who are victims of serious burns. This innovative project aims to end the isolation of these patients.

And lastly, you will read about the Continuum  project, set in motion by a patient and her surgeon, a rousing success by all accounts. Because of this, a second concert will be held on February 22, 2012, again at the Montreal Conservatory of Music. For further information about the concert, look for the section entitled Upcoming events on our fondationduchum.com Website.

Oh yes, and don’t forget to read the insert for the Clinique Santé-voyage reminding you of the importance of getting vaccinated before traveling outside the country.
