Yesterday, the prestigious Le Mirage Golf Club in Terrebonne played host to the very first edition of the CHUM Foundation\u2019s Summer Golf and Cycling Classic. At this truly unique event, members of the business, healthcare and sports worlds gathered for the day to gave back to their community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was presented by our renowned partner MONTONI and had an incredible turnout of over 200 golfers and several dozen cyclists, who helped raise an impressive $577,170<\/strong>. These funds will empower the CHUM and its teams to act faster than disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where sports meets philanthropy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re honoured to present this one-of-a-kind event bringing together sports and philanthropy,\u201d said Franca Riso, vice president of Montoni Group. \u201cThe CHUM\u2019s medical teams go above and beyond providing Quebecers with exceptional healthcare. We wanted to partner with them on this event to support all the work they do and help guarantee access to top-tier care for all.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pascale Bouchard, president and chief executive officer of the CHUM Foundation, also shared her appreciation for all of the participants:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new way for cyclists to give back<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This year introduced a new cycling event. Bike enthusiasts got the opportunity to contribute to the Foundation\u2019s fundraising efforts, while growing their professional network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspirational stories<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the highlights of the day was CHUM patient Maryse Choquette-Par\u00e9\u2019s touching story about how the CHUM helped her survive an ischemic stroke by performing a thrombectomy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe CHUM took better care of me than I\u2019ve ever experienced\u2014it was absolutely incredible!\u201d Maryse talked all about how important continued donor support is for providing innovative, life-saving care.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
