History
Nearly 30 years of history
The CHUM Foundation was established on May 1, 1998, following the merger of Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal, Hôpital Notre-Dame, Hôpital Saint-Luc and their respective foundations. This defining moment brought together long-established philanthropic forces to support a brand-new, world-class teaching hospital that’s both innovative and forward-thinking.
In 2023, the Foundation launched publicly its most ambitious major campaign yet, to raise $200 million by 2028. The goal of this campaign is to equip the CHUM with even more powerful tools to act faster than disease. Today, the CHUM Foundation is driven by the same deep conviction as before: that each act of generosity brings us closer to a healthier future for all. And its story continues to be written—all thanks to you.
