CHUM staff committed to their foundation
This fall, CHUM care teams went above and beyond for the CHUM Foundation, collecting a total of $341,716, all while continuing their extraordinary work with their patients. Learn more about the fundraisers that made this possible and the people behind them.
Doc-Vélo – September 27
For 14 years now, Dr. Paul Perrotte, urologic oncologist at the CHUM, has biked the 275 km between Montréal and Québec alongside well over a dozen dedicated colleagues —and raised money in the process! It’s a challenge that supports a cause near and dear to their hearts: the health of Quebecers. This year, the cyclists raised an impressive total of $152,421.
D’art et d’espoir – October 5
The fifth edition of the D’art et d’espoir concert-exhibit brought artists, patients and members of the CHUM community gathering to the École de musique Vincent-d’Indy concert hall. At the helm of the event was Dr. Frank Schwenter, a digestive surgery specialist at the CHUM, who succeeded in raising $15,215 for the fight against digestive cancer. In Dr. Schwenter’s words, “What inspires us to bring this event back year after year is witnessing how members of the public engage with each other’s experiences and emotions surrounding digestive cancer. The moments of connection that emerge from these events are priceless.”
The Great Evening for Neuro – October 14
This celebratory evening to benefit the CHUM’s neurology unit marked its fourth year in record-breaking style, raising an amazing $174,080! “Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors and partners, we can develop innovative educational projects using immersive technologies, AI and interdisciplinary learning to train a new generation of curious, critical and engaged clinicians,” said Dr. Nguyen, head of the CHUM’s neurology unit and organizer of the Great Evening for Neuro.
The Foundation is proud to be able to count on such a generous and dedicated community. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all the organizers, donors and partners who made these fundraisers such a success!
