The Sugar Shack for Epilepsy is a key fundraising event for pilot projects in epilepsy research, including seizure prediction and detection using smart devices and AI-aided automated electroencephalogram (EEG) analysis.
Sugar Shack donors’ incredible fundraising efforts will also go to research grants for medical students and give patients access to new investigation techniques like magnetoencephalography, tractography, simultaneous EEG-fMR and laser interstitial thermal ablation for epilepsy.
“Year after year, all of us in the CHUM Epilepsy Group are blown away by the commitment of the Sugar Shack donors and partners. Everyone who shows up is always so excited to get together for this fun, family-friendly event and be part of advancing epilepsy research and treatment. Their generosity is why we can provide our patients the very best care—and that’s really something special!”
— Dang Khoa Nguyen, head of the CHUM’s neurology unit
