The Fondation du CHUM appoints Julie Chaurette as president and CEO

Montreal, November 1, 2017 — The Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) board of directors announces the appointment of Julie Chaurette as president and CEO.

With over 25 years of experience in national and international organizations, Chaurette’s energy and enthusiasm have been at the heart of a number of major achievements for different institutional, public, semi-public and non-profit organizations.

A woman of acknowledged leadership and the 2014 winner of the CPA Award of Excellence – Community Service, Chaurette has also distinguished herself over the years with her passionate philanthropy and commitment to an array of social organizations, most notably with her fundraising efforts on behalf of events like La Tablée des Chefs. She is a member of the boards of directors of the Société d’habitation et de développement de Montréal (SHDM) and the Fondation Ressources-Jeunesse and sits on the Governance Committee of the Ordre des CPA du Québec.

Marc Tremblay, chairman of the Fondation du CHUM board of directors, sees Chaurette’s arrival as a breath of fresh air for the Fondation, which is closely connected to the new CHUM’s success. “With our major campaign, which has already raised $180 M of an initial $300 M objective, the Fondation is playing a major role in developing the new CHUM’s mission.

I am convinced that Chaurette will raise the Fondation’s contribution to the CHUM even more,” says Tremblay.
Whether it’s with families, women or young athletes, Chaurette’s dedication to the community has been, and will always be, remarkable. “The Fondation du CHUM now not only has an accomplished professional on its team, but a manager who puts her values into practice by getting involved and putting her leadership to work on projects close to her heart,” adds Tremblay.

About the Fondation du CHUM
The Fondation’s mission is to provide a complementary source of funding for the CHUM. The support of a foundation is required in order for a healthcare institution to have the capacity to expand its local, national and international reputation and influence, and to accelerate its technological developments. The Fondation du CHUM serves as a catalyst and a driving force in carrying out the CHUM’s mission, with its numerous initiatives, its fundraising activities (direct mailings, canvassing of individual donors, private foundations and corporations) and its capital financing campaign.

Jonathan Drouin makes a commitment to the Fondation du CHUM
On September 19, Fondation du CHUM volunteer spokesman Claude Meunier proudly announced the incredible contribution of Jonathan Drouin to the Fondation. The Montreal Canadiens’ Number 92 has agreed to make a personal donation of $50,000 a year for the next 10 years.

Departure of Luce Moreau
The Fondation du CHUM’s board of directors extends its thanks to Luce Moreau for her work over the past few years
as president and CEO. She contributed greatly to the success of the Fondation’s mission and inspired the entire team
to outdo itself day after day.
