The CHUM Foundation proudly welcomes its newly appointed director, Quebec business powerhouse Jean Gattuso. He is a wonderful addition to a team of 19 committed members, who all chose to join forces to empower the CHUM’s teams to act faster than disease.
An inspiring career
Jean Gattuso leveraged a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and an MBA from the Université du Québec à Montréal to gain impressive experience in the agri food industry. He spent over 34 years at Lassonde Industries Inc., climbing the ranks from subsidiary marketing director to president and CEO of the Lassonde parent company from 2012 to 2021. Under his watchful eye, Lassonde went from a local juice and drink company to a multinational corporation that boasts 2,700 employees across Canada and the United States, with sales at a whopping $1.9 billion in 2020. This achievement has earned Gattuso countless awards, including the 2015 Golden Pencil Award, the Canadian agri-food industry’s highest distinction.
Driven to make a difference
A business man with a human touch, Gattuso has spent his career sitting on multiple boards of directors and throwing his support behind numerous health-related causes. He served as the board president of the Palliative Home-Care Society of Greater Montreal and co-chaired a fundraiser for Charles-LeMoyne Hospital Foundation in 2011. Now a full time corporate director, he wants to use his extensive experience to support the CHUM in offering world class healthcare for all Quebecers. His leadership and renowned commitment to philanthropy will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to the Foundation and its hospital centre.
