We are truly moved and grateful to announce an extraordinary donation of $8,750,000 from the Courtois Foundation. Thanks to this commitment, the CHUM Research Centre (CRCHUM) has been able to create a fund to provide competitive funding to researchers at different stages of their careers. This will significantly increase the CRCHUM’s appeal and its ability to recruit top scientific minds.
Recruiting top talent to go further, faster
Philanthropy plays a major role in giving research specialists what they need to start their careers and pursue their goals, helping them make their dreams a reality and powering scientific breakthroughs. This fund will allow the CRCHUM to:
- Allocate competitive start-up funds to researchers at all stages of their careers
- Create a grant program that will help the research centre attract the best postdoctoral fellows
This inspiring gesture will give the CRCHUM the ability to boost its critical mass of scientists and the volume of basic research produced and translated into the clinical phase and practice. It will also expand the number of medical breakthroughs and bolster the widespread impact of scientific advances. The Courtois Foundation, founded in 2011, has made it its mission to support promising causes and projects with the power to transform and shape the future. Since 2019, the Courtois Foundation has contributed $12 million to the CHUM Foundation.
