A Record Year for the 20th Annual Gourmet Dinner!
The Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) held its 20th annual Gourmet Dinner on June 18, with Mr. Pierre Karl Péladeau, President and CEO of Québécor serving as Honorary Chair. The event raised a net $1,002,200, thanks to the generosity of some 600 guests—an exceptional chapter in this festive year for the Fondation and its CHUM.
Unprecedented Success
This Gourmet Dinner marked one of the most generous events in the Fondation’s history, reflecting the deep commitment of the community and of Québec’s movers and shakers, who recognize the hospital complex’s important role among the public. “Quebecor is proud to have been part of this highly successful 20th annual Gourmet Dinner! It is an honour to have contributed to the strong backing for the vast social development project that the new CHUM represents. I would like to thank the business community, which turned out en masse, as well as all of our charitable and loyal donors. Together, we have made a difference that will enable CHUM to push the envelope of excellence even further. A big thank you to everyone for being part of this great, united effort on behalf of our health.”—Mr. Pierre Karl Péladeau, President and CEO of Quebecor.
Guests all shared a strong desire to contribute to the quality of patient care. “The Fondation is particularly proud to underscore the support of CHUM’s healthcare practitioners at this event. Their dedication is invaluable and paves the way to a brighter future, to the great benefit of our community,” said Ms. Julie Chaurette, President and CEO of the Fondation du CHUM.
Spotlight on Innovation
The excellence of our new hospital complex was delicately woven into the evening’s theme. Mr. Baptiste Peupion, renowned executive chef of the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, created a brilliant a menu highlighting CHUM’s technological achievements. Guests also enjoyed a number of acts featuring the rising stars of Montréal’s performance scene, including Ms. Yama Laurent, winner of the 2018 La Voix Award.
Véronic DiCaire, New Voice of the Fondation
It is with great pride that volunteer spokesperson Mr. Claude Meunier announced that Ms. Véronic DiCaire has joined the Fondation as an ambassador. This stunning duo delighted guests with their humour and enthusiasm. The famous singer and impressionist spoke out in support of the Fondation, accompanied by fellow ambassador Jonathan Drouin and the volunteer spokesperson.
