Some, like Louise and Benoît Rivest, give without expecting anything in return. They contribute their time and knowledge to the needs of CHUM patients. FCHUM highlighted their invaluable support during Volunteer Week.
“Our daughter, who is active in FCHUM, got us to attend a benefit event. We enjoyed it so much, we have gotten more involved since, even beyond the scope of our daughter’s work. The volunteers have real needs and we are delighted to help meet them, since we’re both retired. FCHUM is one of the biggest foundations in Québec. We are still there because of the great people we work with. Their tokens of appreciation are many and we feel our contribution is meaningful. Since CHUM sets standards for all of Québec, it helps so many people. We are proud to be part of this effort as volunteers and provide healthcare practitioners with the tools they need. Doing so is very fulfilling. We feel like we’re helping the community. Plus, there are many exceptional volunteers of different background who contribute to FCHUM and we enjoy chatting with them.”
