Discover 6 age-worthy vintages that would make a stunning addition to your collection:

This highly sought-after wine, made with great care, is one of the jewels of Domaine E. Guigal. In the Wine Advocate, American critic Robert Parker described it as wonderfully perfumed and floral, perfectly framed by soft, dusty tannins on a lingering finish. He says that it will be fascinating to follow La Turque 2017 and compare it over the decades.

The Eugénie estate is putting out some of the greatest red wines in Burgundy. Their Clos‑Vougeot Grand Cru is one of their very best, and it’s no different for the 2017 vintage. This Pinot Noir should be uncorked between 2024 and 2045, and offers up notes of red currant, dark cherry and spice and freshly turned earth.

Maison Louis Jadot makes controlled designation of origin (AOC) wines, each of which perfectly expresses its terroir. This intense, mineral Grand Cru displays aromas and flavours of fruit, flowers, pepper and cinnamon, and goes wonderfully with seafood and white meat. It will be at its best in 10 to 20 years.

This wine is ready to be enjoyed, but it will continue to improve with age and can be kept corked until 2041. It should be aerated when opened to reveal its deep, intense nose. In the words of critic James Suckling, its aromas of blackcurrant, sweet tobacco, fresh herbs, licorice and cigar box follow through to a full body with tannins that are totally integrated and ultra, ultra fine.

This gorgeous, age-worthy Pinot Noir will be at its best from 2023 to 2045. It is structured, though not overly so, with a fat and silky texture. Aromas of macerated cherry, wild strawberry and wonderful minerality, with a complex, spice-tinged finish.

Wine Spectator magazine has called Álvaro Palacios Spain’s most sensational winemaker. This venerable winery is a fantastic ambassador for Priorat, a region known for its arid climate and black clay soil. Its 2018 vintage has a well-balanced structure, great for pairing with roasts, cheeses, grilled meats and game.
